Considered a leading world music DJ, Sabbah, who moved to France in the ’60s and began spinning in Paris in 1964, is one of the earliest practitioners of the art of deejaying. From the energy of bhangra to Moroccan street rap, from trance to dub, Sabbah covers the many facets of the outernational dance floor
Additional workshops and events will be announced later at the festival’s web site, http://uniontheater.wisc.edu/worldmusicfest/.
The festival is presented by the Wisconsin Union Directorate Theater Committee. Other confirmed sponsors include The Anonymous Fund, Evjue Foundation, Madison Arts Commission, National Endowment for the Arts, UW Credit Union, and Wisconsin Arts Board.
